Mike was appointed to the Quincy Fire District board of commissioners in 2006 to replace longtime board member Dorothy Dunn who retired.
For more than four decades, Mike and his wife Keri were the owners and publishers of the six weekly community newspapers that had served the Plumas and Lassen counties.
Unfortunately, that changes in April 2020 when the financial impact of the COVID pandemic forced them to cease publishing. Although now fully retired, he remains very active and committed to the community while also enjoying the extra time to play a little more golf,
